5 Star's Band Director, Bob Drummond, brings 40+ years' experience directing student and professional jazz bands in Missouri and Kansas. Mr. Drummond was selected as Missouri Outstanding Band Director for 1990 by Phi Beta Mu, National Bandmaster Fraternity, Lambda Chapter of Missouri. Most recently he was awarded the prestigious Jess Cole Jazz Award for lifetime achievement in jazz education. Bob has the gift of inspiring young musicians to "step up" and stand on the shoulders of giants like Duke Ellington, Maynard Ferguson, Buddy Rich and other American jazz greats and drive their own musicianship to new heights.
